Double Overhand Surgeons
It is often necessary to tie one line to another. The double overhand surgeon's knot is one of several options, and is the reccomended knot for tying braid to monofilament or fluorocarbon. It is fast, reliable, and very easy to tie.
1. Start by overlapping at least 12" of the two lines:
2. Make a loop with the two lines:
3. Run the tag through the loop 3 times. It may be easier to complete this step if nothing is tied to the tag line (shown at right below):
4. Grab the two tag-end lines (shown at left) and the two main line-end lines (shown at right) and pull to cinch the knot:
5. Trim as needed:
